Scope of Position:
Position reports to Plant Manager to provide operational leadership in manufacturing of optical connectivity components. Works in conjunction with plant and divisional supply chain team, PLM, quality, technology and plant management to plan and execute to deliver high level of service and cash flow performance. Develops and recommends plant management strategies and lean tools to improve safety, quality, efficiency, productivity and unit cost for all products. Provide direction, vision, and supervision to plant operations team members to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost goals.
Day to Day
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to shift leads and hourly associates to achieve plant objectives for safety, quality, productivity, delivery and unit cost goals.
Supervise overall production schedule of all production lines to ensure productivity targets are met.
Manage shift leads to ensure that molding, turning, connector automation and special assembly areas are staffed properly.
Coordinate weekly production schedules with Planning to assure timely issuance of work orders and materials necessary to maximize efficiencies and service levels.
Work with Planning to define monthly production schedules and provide support to the product teams to achieve goals.
Drive continuous improvements utilizing lean and Six Sigma tools (Value stream mapping, Kaizen, DMAIC, etc.)
Recruit, interview, select hourly personnel and guide development through training and annual performance appraisals.
Review and analyze production and financial reports to understand variances and develops actions plans for improvement.
Releases/close out production orders as needed, audit production orders for accuracy and ensure that monthly cycle counts are completed.
Manage new product implementation for the final release to manufacturing operations
Support culture of compliance and drives continuous improvement activities.
Ensure that the production process is operating in compliance to established control set-points and operating procedures. Enforce process discipline and rigorous change control.
Work with engineering team to develop plans to improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
Communicate and report production and process performance metrics to production teams, plant staff and functional leaders. Ensure that production targets and delivery requirements are met on a daily and weekly basis.
Travel Requirements:
Limited travel within U.S. / Mexico
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
40 hrs / week, Mon Fri Core Hours
Required Education:
BS or BA Degree (prefer technical field of study)
Required Years and Area of
Experience:
3-5 years operations experience in manufacturing environment
Required Skills:
MS Office (PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and solve complex problems
Ability to work independently in a dynamic business and manufacturing environment
1-2 years supervisory experience leading teams
Desired Skills:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
