Our new team member will use knowledge of health insurance plans and payers gained through experience to obtain authorization for patient treatment and follow up; Maintain accurate information regarding authorizations in both electronic health record and billing system; Interface with payers as required relative to authorization for physician ordered services; Communicate with Center clinicians and staff regarding authorization status and decisions; Obtain insurance verification as required to support authorization requests; Consistent review of individual payer policies to identify changes affecting authorizations; Participate in process development and improvements as it relates to authorizations, verification, communication, education, etc.
; Additional responsibilities will be shared based on team work load and competency.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Insurance verification experience required (at least 2 years) Extensive knowledge of insurance practices required Must be able to communicate with patients, peers, physicians, and the general public.
Must have telephone communication and etiquette skills.
Computer proficiency required.
Requires use of billing system, insurance web sites, electronic medical record and electronic verification Must enjoy a fast paced environment Professional appearance, ability to balance multiple priorities and be a team player.
