9am-6pm) Midtown Medical Imaging, a leading provider of diagnostic imaging services, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:
Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for all scheduled outpatient imaging services, including MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and X-ray exams.
Obtain pre-authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications for procedures as required by insurance carriers.
Accurately enter patient demographics, insurance information, and authorization details into the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
Collaborate with the scheduling department to ensure timely and accurate scheduling of patient appointments.
Communicate effectively with patients, referring physicians, and insurance carriers to resolve any insurance-related issues.
Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
Maintain a thorough understanding of insurance guidelines, billing practices, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and track pending authorizations, denials, and appeals, and work with the billing department to ensure proper claim submission.
Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the outpatient imaging center.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
Preferably 2 years of experience in medical insurance verification, preferably in an outpatient imaging or healthcare setting.
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 codes.
Familiarity with various insurance carriers and their policies, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
